Services and example prices

It is very difficult to give a price without physically seeing your dog. The main thing I ask myself when quoting a price is ‘how long will this groom take me?’.

Factors to take into consideration are:

  • what type of coat does this dog have – for instance long hair, short hair, woolly or double coat
  • when was the dog last groomed and is the coat very matted – this presents problems for grooming, and extra care has to be taken when removing the mats to prevent injury or pain.
  • is the dog a willing participant or is it likely to jump around the table like a bucking bronco? This is obviously very hazardous for both your dog and myself
  • size of dog – more shampoo used, longer drying time, longer styling time
  • are you wanting a practical pet cut or breed standard groom

To give you an idea of how much you may pay for a groom

FULL GROOM to include 2xwash, dry, deshed or clip & scissoring, ear clean, nail clip
Spaniels £45-£50
Poodle mixes eg. Cockapoo, Cavapoo, £50-£55
Jack Russells/Chihuahas/Yorkshire Terrier £45-£50
Larger dogs eg Samoyed, Labrador, Labradoodle £60

Please note that these prices do not apply to severely matted dogs. Keeping to a regular schedule of grooming will prevent this happening. Poodle mixes should ideally be groomed every 6-8 weeks.

Nail Clipping: Many dogs do not tolerate having their nails clipped. I want your dog’s experience of grooming to be a positive one, therefore nail clipping will only be completed as long as the dog allows.

PUPPY GROOM £25-£30
(up to 6 months old) to include wash, dry, ear clean, paw & eye tidy
If your dog is of a breed that will require regular grooming, it is very important to introduce your puppy to the grooming environment once they are fully vaccinated. These sessions will help keep their cute puppy coat clean and tangle free, and also get them used to the noises, smells and sensations of being groomed.
